President's Message
"You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”
As president and founder of Citizen Helpers it is an honor to offer services to help both caregivers and those in need. Citizen Helpers enables people to maintain their independence by providing a set of “Helping-Hands" to assist the needs of our clients and their families. We are constantly striving to help citizens maintain their independence while reassuring their families that their loved ones are being cared for.

Citizen Helpers was unfortunately established through a personal experience in my life. Beatrice White, my Nana, as I fondly called her developed Alzheimer’s disease in the 1990's. At the onset of her disease she needed to have some help in her home with various household endeavors. As her condition began to progress, the amount of time she could be left alone was decreasing. My mother and I spent all of our free time there but unfortunately this was still not enough. We didn’t know where to turn.

Through this aforementioned experience, and in my Nana’s memory, I vowed that her struggles with Alzheimer’s disease and our experience as caregivers for her would not be forgotten. As a result, in order to try to help other caregivers in similar situations, Citizen Helpers was founded.

Citizen Helpers currently has clients through out the Capital Region of the State of New York with a home base in the City of Cohoes.
